Our Gratitude

Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in NYC Veterans Alliance advocacy, events, and activities:

Civic Hall – We were so proud to have a home at Civic Hall from 2015 to 2020. The founders and staff at Civic Hall nurtured the organizing of our members and gave us an incredible venue to host events and connect our membership with civic tech innovators and elected leaders.

In Memoriam

Lee Covino, US Army, Vietnam veteran, proud Staten Islander, and lifelong advocate – Lee was a founding member of NYC Veterans Alliance, contributed to our policy agenda, served as a panelist at our very first event in 2015 at the New York Public Library, and was a consistent advocate with us. He passed away in 2024 at the age of 72. RIP Lee.

Angela Coyle, 9/11 health advocate, child advocate, and proud citizen of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn – Angela became a NYC Veterans Alliance supporter through her work on the NYC Veterans Day Parade and post-parade reception. She did simply invaluable work for the Alliance and led organization of the 2019 Battle of Brooklyn Ruck March, coordinating with VFW and American Legion posts across Brooklyn, as well as working with local businesses and restaurants to make a great day for around 50 veterans. Her laughter was infectious and her love for veterans and first responders was always felt. She passed away in 2022. Thank you for everything you did for us and with us, Angela. RIP.
